To qualify as a self-employed person, an individual must be willing and able to support with self-employed income in Art, Culture, Recreation and Sport.
To qualify as a self-employed person, you must have two years of relevant experience and show that you intend to become self-employed in Canada.
The occupations in art, culture, recreation and sports include:
- Athletes
- Coaches
- Sports officials and referees
- Instructors in recreation and fitness
- Authors and writers
- Creative and performing artists
- Musicians
- Painters
- Sculptors and other visual artists
- Technical support and other jobs in motion pictures
- Creative designers
- Craftspeople
You must also score at least 35 points on a selection grid designed to determine whether you will be able to make an economic contribution to Canada.
